Wrecked | Bam Caught Skating in Jordan 1's

Retailing at $190 with a resale value as high as $4,000, according to StockX.

Skating in Jbalvin's Air Jordan 1's is a pretty outrageous act, but that's what "Bam Margiela" did!

Ok, not the Bam you are thinking of, but this is mad none the less. Bam Margiela, aka Erik Arteaga, is a grungy skater straight out of southern California.

He's made a name for himself by beating up and destroying some real grails.

Having collaborated previously with Virgil Abloh and destroying some of his most sought after sneakers, he continues to cause a stir on social media.

Although its romantic to see these kicks getting worn in the real world, instead of sitting in storage, collecting dust and being treated as an asset, its quite heartbreaking to watch them get wrecked beyond repair.

Erik has previously skated in the highly anticipated Air Jordan 4 Sail, the Dior Jordan 1's, Travis Scotts Purple Jordan 4's and many more iconic Kicks.

You have to wonder if he's trying to send a message to the sneakerhead community about being too precious with our sneakers. After all, they are made to be worn.

Skateboarding has always rewarded the groundbreaking and innovative on this occasion; the world has recognised it too.

Erik has firmly stamped his identity in the world of luxury fashion. However, parts of the skateboarding community have somewhat dumped him as they struggle to understand his sudden rise in engagement.

Not that this phases Erik, as his sudden rise in popularity has only opened new doors for him.

Not to mention it's likely his alternative outcasted identity that built the foundation of his brand in the first place.

They are only adding fuel to the fire.

We say keep doing you Erik! Take a look at Erik shredding a pair of Jbalivins Jordan 1's whilst skating in Los Angeles's streets.
